Guests Throwing Confetti Over Bride And Groom

There is no doubt that outdoor weddings are dreamy and romantic. But if not meticulously planned, they can prove to be a disaster, what with the unpredictable weather and elements.

But if you and your partner really do not want to go the traditional route and instead, celebrate your union in a different setting, there are ways you can make things easier. Here are some things you need to keep in mind.

Venue

It is important to be mindful of what your chosen private event space in Singapore has and does not have. But the most critical step is to make sure that your chosen location has a stable supply of power for all the equipment that you will be using during the ceremony and reception.

Also, inquire about the event space’s rules and terms. Will the venue be able to accommodate all your guests, as well as parking spaces for their vehicles? How about restrooms? By checking on these things, you can be sure that your guests will be comfortable on your big day.

Weather

It is a must for all couples celebrating an outdoor wedding to have a back-up plan should the weather and fail to cooperate on the day of your wedding. Consider renting a venue with an indoor space or renting a tent in case of inclement weather. It is best to be prepared, especially since weather conditions are not something that you can control.

But if you think that rain is your only enemy in an outdoor wedding, you are wrong. It is also not ideal to let your guests sweat under the heat of the sun. Ideally, outdoor weddings are best done late in the afternoon or when the sun is about to set. If not, make sure you have enough coolants and water to keep your guests comfortable and hydrated.

Attire

Yes, it is inevitable that the bottom of your wedding dress will get dirty in an outdoor celebration. So if you can, try to avoid wearing a long gown. But if you do pick a long gown, at least choose one that hangs just enough to cover your shoes.

The same goes for your guests. Be sure to inform them about this so that they can wear dresses suitable for an outdoor setting.

Food

Let us face it; it can be harder to protect your food in an outdoor setting. Aside from weather conditions, another factor that you need to consider is the presence of insects and bugs. Not to mention, your special wedding cake has its own conditions. Talk to your catering service provider about this so that they can prepare whatever they will need.

According to some wedding planners, one good and easy way to keep the food, beverages and cake in your reception in good condition is to keep them covered until the guests are ready to eat. Mesh covers or customized lids will do.

Insects

Because it is an outdoor wedding, the presence of insects and bugs is not surprising at all. After all, they would probably be attracted to the aroma of the food you will be serving. To avoid a swarm of unwanted guests on your big day, request that the venue be sprayed a day before your wedding.

Do not let any possible pitfall to stop you and your partner to have that dream outdoor wedding of yours. Get all bases covered to ensure that your outdoor wedding will go as planned.
